General Fabrication

Lobec can undertake all types of steel fabrication involving the offshore, civil and general structural steel environments, in both carbon and exotic grades of materials. Our workforce is multi-skilled with all disciplines carried out to approved standards and procedures.

Pressure Vessels

Lobec has vast experience in the design and manufacture of pressure vessels for both the offshore petrochemical industries and sub-sea. This includes manned hyperbaric chambers. All pressure vessels are manufactured in accordance with the P.E.D. and designs to both PD5500 and A.S.M.E. VIII.

Pipework

The company also carries out the design, fabrication and installation of pipework and pipework systems. Our expertise is widespread and covers the survey and commissioning of zero discharge lines, flume lines, H.P. mud and cement pumping systems and H.V.A.C., with regard to engine rooms and accommodation.

Exotic Welding

Our highly qualified team of specialist welders approved by the major certifying authorities are engaged in projects that involve exotic welding and repair to equipment. Typical projects include the repair of hubs and pinions for the jacking motors of mobile drilling rigs.

Package units

We produce industrial and offshore mobile cement units, including the fitting of vessels, pumps and valves onto a steel frame and carrying out all interconnecting pipework and hydraulic controls. Electrical controls are carried out by an established source of electrical engineers.

Modules

A60 mobile office, workshop facilities and accommodation for the offshore industry are also designed and manufactured. All lifting requirements comply with BSEN 12079 and DNV2.7-1 where appropriate.

Bridges

With our experienced design team we have devised and manufactured personnel-access bridges to connect fixed and mobile installations. Bridges have been designed as partially A60 rated and have been structurally analysed against blast load in the event of an onboard explosion.
